FEMP First Thursday Seminar Series begins on Thursday, February 4

The First Thursday Seminars are a series of six training sessions for Federal energy and environmental professionals offered at no cost on the first Thursday of each month from February through July 2010. Leading experts address timely topics in 90-minute sessions offered live via satellite or through streaming video at your desktop.

The first seminar in FEMP’s series, “Executive Order (E.O.) 13514, Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance,” will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The seminar by Dr. Leslie Gillespie-Marthaler from the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) will provide an overview of definitions, baseline measurements, and other requirements outlined by E.O. 13514. Specifically, the seminar will cover:

  • The purpose, benefits, and target outcomes of E.O.13514
  • Goals, deadlines, and compliance requirements of E.O.13514
  • How to meet accountability, reporting, and compliance requirements of E.O. 13514
  • How to share your knowledge with senior officials and other decision-makers at your facility and agency.
