Renewable Energy Resources

earth

Our world has an abundant potential of energy from a variety of different natural resources. The goal for the future of the earth should be to harness these naturally occurring forces to minimize the impact we have on our atmosphere as well as our dependency on the limited resources that we are currently consuming.

Wind Energy

Wind Mill

Wind energy has been used has been used in one form or another for thousands of years from powering sailboats and pumping water to providing energy for the households of today.  While the wind may not be the most reliable resource that we  have available with the technology that has and is being further  developed it will be one of the leading resources of energy in our  future.

Sunset

Solar energy is one of our most abundant natural energy sources available. Even when it's overcast solar panels are still capable of producing energy from the available light. New technology for the future includes shingles and even paint that can use the sun's energy to power your house. While  some of this technology is still being developed there is hope  that we will be using sunshine to power our homes in the near  future.

Hydropower

Hydro

Energy harnessed from water has been around for two thousand years allowing people to grind wheat into flour and power saw mills as well. Currently in the U.S.10% of electricity comes from hydropower. Today, there is about 80,000 MW of conventional capacity and 18,000 MW of pumped storage.

Geothermal Energy

Geothermal

Geothermal energy is the harvesting of energy from the vast supply of heat created below the earth's crust. This energy has been used for cooking, cleansing and warmth for thousands of years. By tapping into this natural resource we can provide the energy needed to power our homes and businesses with minimal ecological impact.
